The Phuentsholing police have detained three men aged between 20 and 24 years following a complaint by a resident about being threatened by a weapon.
According to the complainant’s statement, at about 11.30 p.m. yesterday, he saw three men loitering around the building he lived in. Suspecting foul activity, the resident had asked the men what they were doing, and one of the men had reacted by pulling out a khukuri and threatened and him. It was only when the man said he would call the police that the men left.
The Police said, along with the complaint, they had also noted the description of the men. The Police then met them on their way to the scene. The men were found to be under the influence of psychotropic substances.
The Police found the khukuri on them as well.
The incident took place in Kabreytar, a residential area about three kilometres from Phuentshoilng town.
