Bhutan’s Senior Men’s Cricket Team is all set to compete in the Thailand Open Men’s T20I Series, which begins tomorrow. Over the next four days, Bhutan will face Bahrain, host Thailand, and Japan. The team completed their final preparations today ahead of the series kickoff.

As the tournament approaches, players say they are prepared, confident, and eager to make their mark on the regional stage. They see this series as an important opportunity to gain international exposure and test themselves against some of Asia’s strong cricketing sides.

Thinley Jamtsho, Captain of Bhutan National Cricket Team said, “Coming into the tournament, our preparations have been really good. We are coming off a strong series against Bahrain and a whitewash against Myanmar, which has boosted the team’s confidence. The boys are very confident and ready to make a mark in the tournament. Although we will be playing strong teams like Bahrain and Japan, we are here to win. Our goal is to reach the finals.”

The team’s coach has also expressed confidence in the squad and excitement for the upcoming challenge.

Coach Kumar Subba said, “Maybe we are the lowest ranking in the team, but that doesn’t decide our fight. I’m very confident with my team, the preparation has been focused, and players are clear about their roles in this stage. My goal is to stay disciplined and execute our plan properly and compete with strong characters.”

Bhutan will open their campaign against Bahrain tomorrow, followed by a match against host Thailand on Thursday, and then Japan on Friday. The tournament will conclude on Saturday with the third-place playoff and the final, where the top two teams from the league matches will compete for the title.

As the series gets underway, all eyes will be on Bhutan as they take on Asia’s top cricket teams with determination and the hope of making their mark.
