Women continue to secure top positions in Bhutan Civil Service Examination. They excelled in seven out of eleven categories in the exam. From nearly 2,000 graduates who sat for the exam, more than 1,700 passed the exam. The Royal Civil Service Commission announced the results today.

In the Administrative Services category, Deki Phuntsho from Sherubtse College, topped the category with 67.44 per cent.

He said “I just thought that I would get through it, but I didn’t expect to secure the first position. With this good result, I feel more encouraged to serve the country.”

Tandin Chenzom from Gedu College of Business Studies scored the highest with 67.7 per cent in the Finance Services category.

Likewise, in the Dzongkha category, Sangay Bidha from the College of Language and Culture Studies, achieved the top position with 79.09 per cent.

Securing 69.03 per cent, Karma Dorji from University of Texas at El Paso in the United States topped the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) category.

And Tashi Yuden from Paro College of Education stood as the top scorer in the Bachelor’s of Education category with 80.03 per cent.

In the Technical (MBBS) category, Tshering Deki Yangzom from University of Colombo in Sri Lanka achieved the highest score of 75.96 per cent.

Similarly, in the Technical (Health Services) category, Kinzang Dema from the Royal Thimphu College topped the category with 80.69 per cent.

Kinzang Dema said, “Everyone is capable, so I didn’t think I would get first position. But now that I have, I feel very happy. I have been preparing since my internship, revising everything I learned from my first to fourth year.”

In the Common Examination for Law Graduates Category, Choki Pelden Lhamo from Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law topped the category with 85.8 per cent.

Choki Pelden Lhamo said, “It is all about consistency. I was very consistent with my revisions and preparation. I believe that all the hard work pays off. I feel very happy and proud to see many women shine in their own fields. It is an evidence that women are now achieving more than what they have been doing before.”

Norbu Tshering Samdrup from University of New Brunswick topped the Technical (Engineering and Statistics) category with 75.45 per cent.

And in the Technical (ICT) category, Tshewang Rigzin from Vellore Institute of Technology in India secured the top position with 76.99 per cent.
