Bhutanese archers held their ground at the Asia Cup 2025 Leg 2 qualification rounds in Singapore today. Two of them were placed among the top 20 in their respective categories. 204 archers from 20 countries are competing across ten categories. The four-day tournament will conclude on Friday.
Nine Bhutanese national archers are competing at the Asia Cup 2025 Leg 2 in Singapore. In today’s qualification rounds, they took part in both recurve and compound divisions.
In the compound men’s individual category, Tandin Dorji led the Bhutanese contingent, finishing 13th out of 50 archers.
Kezang Norbu, Khendrup, and Tshewang Dorji followed in bagging 35th, 37th, and 46th positions, respectively.
In the Compound Women’s category, Bhutan’s sole female participant, Dorji Dolma, ranked 37th out of 44 archers.
In the compound men’s team event, the trio of Tandin Dorji, Kezang Norbu, and Khendrup secured 9th place out of 13 teams.
In the mixed team event, Tandin Dorji and Dorji Dolma bagged the 11th place out of 13 teams.
Similarly, in the recurve men’s individual event, Sonam Penjor emerged as Bhutan’s top performer, finishing in 18th place out of 54 competitors.
Kinley Tshering, Lam Dorji, and Karma Lhendup were placed 27th, 37th, and 43rd, respectively.
In the recurve men’s team event, the trio of Sonam Penjor, Kinley Tshering, and Lam Dorji bagged the 9th position out of 14 teams, competing against archers from 17 countries.
With the qualification rounds now complete, Bhutanese archers will move on to the elimination matches starting tomorrow, facing strong international opponents.
