In vitro fertilisation, or IVF, services will soon be available at the mother and child hospital in Thimphu. The health minister made the announcement during the Question Hour in the National Assembly today, in response to a concern raised by the Kengkhar-Weringla MP about the high cost of seeking IVF treatment abroad. IVF is a type of assisted reproductive technology that helps individuals with infertility conceive.

The minister added that the ministry is currently trying to acquire funding from the World Health Organization for the establishment of the service.
