The Thimphu police have arrested two men aged between 30 and 50 in possession of fake U.S. dollars. Upon a tip-off, police arrested the two individuals last week and seized around USD 9,500 counterfeit. According to the police, the fake US currency is being supplied from the border areas.

The police urge individuals, particularly business owners and those working in financial institutions, to remain vigilant. The police are investigating the case. Meanwhile, police are also advising the public to be cautious of fake Bhutanese ngultrum and Indian Rupees, which are being circulated in the market.
