Thousands of devotees are attending the almost month-long empowerment and transmission ceremony in Gelephu. The Longchen Nyingthik Tsapoed wanglung presided over by Nyamkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche began today and will continue for the next three weeks. The event is being held for the welfare of all sentient beings and the success of the Gelephu Mindfulness City.

According to organisers, more people have turned up than what was anticipated.

“The committee members and organisers of the event had expected an attendance of between fifteen to twenty thousand people. We had also made arrangements based on that number, but a lot more than that have turned up,” said Khenpo Losel Wangpo of the Lhodrak Kharchu Monastery.
