His Holiness the Je Khenpo appoints Khenpo and vice principal

His Holiness the Je Khenpo appointed a Khenpo and a vice principal today. The Dhar ceremony for the new appointees was held at the Namdroling Goenzin Dratshang in Lhuentse.

Pema Loday from Bumdeling in Trashi Yangtse has been appointed as the Khenpo of Tendruk Dongacholing Monastery in Samtse. He joined monkhood at the age of 13 at Rigsum Gonpa Monastery.

Before this appointment, he taught for three years at Pekarchoeling Dratshang in Nganglam and later worked at the Donyagcholing Monastery.

Meanwhile, Yanka Dorji from Ruebisa Gewog in Wangude Phodrang has been appointed as the vice principal of Druk Namgay Choling Dratshang in Phuentsholing.

He was ordained as a monk at age eight at Dechen Phodrang Monastery, where he studied Garthik-Yangsum.

After graduating from Tango Monastery in Thimphu in 2016, the 36-year-old taught at the Druk Namgay Choling Dratshang before assuming this role.
