More than 74 per cent of the class ten students passed the Bhutan Certificate of Secondary Education, BCSE 2024. The Bhutan Council for School Examinations and Assessment declared the results for classes ten and six today. According to BCSEA, the pass percentage for both classes ten and six has increased compared to 2023.
Over 9,000 students registered for the BCSE examination for class ten of which over 8,900 students appeared in the exam.
The class ten national topper for 2024 is Tashi Dhendup from Zilukha Middle Secondary School, scoring 95 per cent.

Chencho Nedup from Loseling Middle Secondary School bagged the second position with 94.4 per cent.
“I am very happy about the result. It is not my effort alone. I want to thank the teachers, the school and my parents who have always supported me. I also want to thank my friends who have helped me to achieve a good result.”
Rangjung Central School’s Lhawang Tshokey scored 94 per cent, securing the third position.
“Securing third place at the national level is a surreal moment for me. This journey has been a mix of hard work, self-doubt and growth. And I owe this success to my teachers, family and friends who believed in me.”
In the Language and Culture Studies Certificate class ten examination, Rinchen Namgay Wangchuk secured the first position with 87.2 per cent.
Wang Gyeltshen and Tshering Lhadon took the second and third positions, respectively.
The Language and Culture Studies Certificate result saw an overall pass percentage of 100 per cent which is an increase of 13.33 per cent compared to 86.67 per cent in 2023.
The BCSEA also declared the results for the class six common examination. The pass percentage for the class six common exam increased by 4.94 per cent last year.
Topping the common exam with 95.5 per cent were Tashi Dema from Moshi Primary School in Trashigang, Drishti Samal from Darla Higher Secondary School, Tandin Tshomo Drukpa from Rinchen Kuenphen Primary School and Jamsel Jigme Selden from Dechencholing Higher Secondary School in Thimphu.
Scoring 94.75 per cent Tshewang Yegyel Rinzin from Khanduthang Primary School in Samtse and Yeewong Sonam Pema from Dagapela Middle Secondary School secured the second position.
Meanwhile, Adeep Sharma of Phuentsholing Primary School, Sudipa Chhetri of Dagapela Middle Secondary School and Aditi Bhattarai of Chang Rigphel Primary School came in third position with 94.5 per cent.
More than 13,700 class six students appeared for the common examination in December last year.
