The National Airline, Drukair, will increase the number of seats in the economy class for the international flights. This is be done after the three aircraft used for international flights are taken to Hongkong for redesigning of passengers’ seats in February.
“The demand is more for economy class,” said one of the Drukair officials.
Currently, each flight offers over 90 seats for economic class and 20 for business. After the redesign, each aircraft will have over 100 seats for economy class and 16 for business.
Meanwhile, the Drukair has suspended domestic flights since Saturday as the ATR 42-500, the aircraft used for domestic flights, has been flown to Bangalore for maintenance. The maintenance will be complete by next month and the flights will resume accordingly.
