The Thimphu police have detained a 37-year-old man in connection with the death of a 20-year-old woman featured on TikTok. According to the police, months before the woman died by suicide, the man reportedly uploaded a video of her engaging in indecent conversation on his fake TikTok account, which had over 3,000 followers. The police identified the man with assistance from TikTok headquarters in Singapore. He faces charges of online harassment, publishing or transmitting obscene content, and engaging in lascivious conduct. The investigation is nearing completion and will be forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.
