Dorji Lopen confers dhar to newly appointed vice principal and lam

The Dorji Lopen of the Central Monastic Body conferred Dhar to the newly appointed vice principal and lam and awarded a Zen Liwang at the Tashichhodzong yesterday.

43-year-old Jestuen Wangdi from Trashiyangtse has been appointed as the vice principal of Tengchen Choeling Nunnery College in Paro. He joined the Pung-Thim Dratshang at the age of 14 and graduated from the Tango University of Buddhist Studies.

Before his current post, he served as a teacher at Dodeydra Shedra in Thimphu. He underwent his three-year retreat at Chari Drupdey under the guidance of His Holiness Je Thrizur Tenzin Dendup.  

39-year-old Kinley Penjore from Wangduephodrang has been appointed as the Midhey Zhabtog Lam of Takchu Goemba in Haa. He enrolled in monastic school at the age of 13 and graduated from the Tango University of Buddhist Studies. Before his current post, he served as a teacher at Losel Sherubling Gyendhen Lobdra in Wangduephodrang.

And 43-year-old Kencho Gyeltshen from Gasa has been awarded Zen Liwang. He joined Pung-Thim Dratshang at the age of eight and graduated from the Tango University of Buddhist Studies. He has served as a secretary in the Gasa and Pung-Thim Dratshang offices. Currently, he is serving at the Zhung Dratshang Preservation and Antiquities Conservation Centre.
