Close to 2700 university graduates will sit for the Bhutan Civil Service Examination this year. The Preliminary Examination results were declared today. The overall pass percentage stands at over 65 per cent, an increase of four percentage points compared to last year.

Over 4,800 graduates registered for the Preliminary Examination, PE, with nearly 4,100 taking the test.

The cut-off mark was set at 50 per cent. Those who have passed the PE will sit for the main exam along with over 540 graduates of Bachelors in Education, MBBS, and B.Sc. Nursing. They will compete for over 1300 slots in the civil service.

123 seats are allocated for public administration, finance, and legal services. 280 slots have been identified for Post Graduate Diploma in Education, and 410 for Bachelors in Education.

Additionally, according to the Royal Civil Service Commission, there are 493 vacancies in technical services, which are subject to change.

Document verification for those eligible for the main exams will commence on the 26th of August in Thimphu.

Candidates are required to appear in person with their original documents for the verification process.

The main examination will be held from the 3rd to the 5th of October.
