Nunneries benefit from farm road

FarmRoad-ChodphuTwenty households of Geri village under Nanong gewog had a long-cherished dream fulfilled when a 3.15-kilometre farm road from Changchung was inaugurated on Monday.

The road will also benefit two nunneries at Chodpu.

Ap Kota, the ex-gup of Nanong said that the earlier problem of transporting crops to the road point is now solved.

Meanwhile Dupchu, a nun from Chodpu Goenpa, said that before lack of a road posed problems when inmates fell sick or when the nunnery ran out of rations. However, travelling and transportation is no more a hassle.

The farm road cost Nu 1.8 million.
