The factory, despite having missed many deadlines, is expected to roll out its first product, clinker, in the market next week. Clinker is the residue left behind while producing cement.

As one of the biggest factories, Dungsam Cement Corporation Limited is expected to bring in huge financial income for the country.

The Managing Director of DCCL, Dorji Norbu, said besides huge revenue generation, there are immediate benefits that have been  brought about by the cement factory. According to him, lot of job and business opportunities were created. The opportunities are attracting many people from around the country.

As per the plan, the factory was scheduled to be operational by December 2011. But, now the factory is expected to be completed fully by mid next year. When complete, the plant is expected to produce over 4000 tons of cement and over 3000 tons of clinker every day.

“Market study states that, after 2015, there will be huge market of cement in North-East India,” said the Managing Director.
