An additional of 21 new HIV aids cases have been detected as of June this year, according to the recent medical record. Eighty one percent of the new cases have acquired the infection through heterosexual mode. About 80 percent of them are within the age range of 15-49 years.
The report reveals that, of the news cases, 29 percent are unemployed section of the population followed by 1.3 percent of farmers and drivers. Others included are from the occupational background like government, corporate, business and armed personnel.
So far, a total of 291 cases of HIV have been detected since 1993. The record also shows that, of the total number of detected cases, 51 percent constitute female and 49 percent are male.
