SupremeCourtThe Supreme Court (SC) has directed the High Court and the Ministry of Works and Human Settlement to take administrative actions against the members of the tender committee involved in awarding the construction of the Supreme Court.

The move comes after SC found out that the tender committee had tried to favour Nima Construction Company through manipulation and tampering of tender documents.

The Supreme Court has given three months for the Works and Human Settlement Ministry to take administrative action against the Committee.

The members of the committee were the former works and human settlement minister, Kinzang Dorji, former High Court Drangpon, Jigme Zangpo, and the Director of Department of Urban Development and Engineering Services, Rinchen Dorji.

The other members were the department’s Chief engineer, Ugyen Tshewang, project engineer of Department of Urban Development and Engineering Services, Phuntsho Gyeltshen, and the Director of Quality and Control, Rinzin Namgay.

The former Executive Director of Construction Development Board, Wangdi Gyeltshen and Former Director General, Ministry of Finance, Lham Dorji were among others. Deki Choden from MoWHS and Sonam Wangdi, the chief administrative officer from agriculture and forests ministry were also the members.
