SJ-STrike(SJ strike update): Life and business activities are back to normal in Samdrup Jongkhar after the 72 hours strike in the Indian state of Assam came to an end.

The strike ended last evening.

Students and other travellers stranded in the town were able move out of the town to their destinations this morning.

Orange business at FCB auction yard has once again picked up. The mandarin business almost came to a halt after the strike began.

The strike was called on Monday simultaneously by two different groups- All Adivashi Student Union in the Baska district demanding the release of one of its member in custody and the People’s Joint Action Committee for Bodoland movement demanding separate Bodoland state.

Meanwhile, the residents fear another strike which is likely to start tomorrow. The authorities are waiting for information from their counterparts across the border.
