The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade launched a new consular app and website called Druk Abroad in the capital today.

This platform aims to make it easier for Bhutanese living abroad to renew their passports and use an SOS feature to quickly contact authorities during emergencies.

The initiative, funded by the Office of the Gyalpoi Zimpon spending about Nu 10 M is designed to connect Bhutanese overseas with their embassies and the ministry.

The App has a user-friendly interface and is available for download on both iOS and Android platforms to enable them to download and register, especially Bhutanese living outside Bhutan.

Over the next one year, the app and website will expand to include census registration and other services.
