Her Majesty Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck was presented the inaugural Smile Asia Philanthropic Visionary Award in Singapore yesterday. Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, the foreign minister of Singapore presented the award on behalf of Smile Asia.

The accolade was presented at the Smile Asia Charity Gala, recognising and honouring Her Majesty’s exceptional contributions to enhancing the lives of communities through Tarayana Foundation and Smile Asia.

The Tarayana Foundation, in collaboration with Smile Asia, has successfully organised six medical missions in Bhutan. These missions have conducted thorough assessments for 504 children, with 231 receiving transformative surgeries.

Smile Asia is a global alliance of charities aiming to treat facial deformities such as cleft lips and palates.
