As the Central Asian Volleyball Association or CAVA Beach Volleyball tournament concluded, the Maldives’ men’s team and Nepal’s women’s team secured the top spots. They were awarded with medals, trophies and cash prizes. The semi-finals and finals were played at the Changlimithang parking area on Saturday. 18 teams from the Maldives, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Bhutan took part in the three-day tournament.
After a thrilling semi-final, Nepal’s team and Uzbekistan’s team 1 advanced to the finals in the women’s category.
Uzbekistan’s team 1 put up a strong fight against Nepal’s team, narrowly missing victory by just a few points in both sets.
The match captivated the audience, who were divided in their support.
While Nepal’s team was clearly a fan favourite, the skill and dynamism of Uzbekistan’s team 1 also won over many spectators.
In the men’s finals, both Nepal and the Maldives team 1 showcased their power and prowess. The match was filled with electrifying smashes and cheers from the audience.
Although both teams were equally strong, the Maldives team 1 demonstrated slightly superior skill, ultimately winning both sets and claiming the victory.
Although the Bhutanese teams could not qualify for the semi-finals, they attended to support the other players.

The event was organised to showcase athletic talent and raise awareness about the pressing issue of global warming.
The Bhutan Football Federation, the Bhutan Olympic Committee, the Olympics Solidarity and the Central Asian Volleyball Association supported the Bhutan Volleyball Federation in organising the event.
