Meeting the local leaders gathered for the 13th Five Year Plan consultation meeting in Thimphu yesterday, Her Majesty Queen Mother Sangay Choden Wangchuck said Multi-Sectoral Task Force (MSTF) and the Community-Based Support System (CBSS) need to enhance collaboration to effectively provide social services. The two networks work towards addressing public health and social issues in the communities.
During the meeting yesterday, Her Majesty Queen Mother Sangay Choden Wangchuck emphasised the importance of enhanced collaboration between the two networks for sustainable social services.
“Women and children facing problems have greatly benefited from the social services provided to them. The establishment of a social service centre in ten districts is a big achievement. Therefore, moving forward, it is crucial to work together to ensure the sustainability of social services. Effective collaboration and coordination between MSTF and CBSS is essential.”
In response, the members of the local government expressed their full support for Her Majesty’s initiative.
“If MSTF and CBSS work in collaboration, the number of victims of social and public health issues might decrease in the community,” said Ugyen Yangzom, Ngatshang Gup, Monggar.
“I think the collaboration is a good initiative as it will benefit the victims. Since there are two networks with similar objectives, they can collaborate and the operational costs might also be reduced,” said Sonam, Yalang Gup, Trashi Yangtse.
“Her Majesty has developed plans and policies and it is important to work together towards them. We have no questions or doubts regarding Her Majesty’s initiative. We fully support it,” said Gyem Tshering, Naro Gup, Thimphu.
The Multi-Sectoral Task Force (MSTF) and the Community-Based Support System (CBSS) were established in 2001 and 2005, respectively, under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Mother Sangay Choden Wangchuck.
