Tashichholing Dungkhag court under Samtse sentenced a teacher for one year and three months for official misconduct and child molestation.
He was released after he paid Nu.36,000 in lieu of the prison term.
The 33-year-old teacher is of Indian origin and has been teaching Math at Peljorling Higher Secondary School in Sibsoo for the last five years.
The teacher was arrested on August 15, after the school authority lodged a complaint against him.
He had promised two class eight students the question paper of the midterm exam. In return, he had made the students watch porn movies and later had molested them.
