Thimphu police are investigating the alleged murder of a 13-year-old girl. They received a missing person report around 8 pm on Thursday. The girl had reportedly left for Dechenphu Lhakhang alone in the morning and did not return.
Her body was discovered yesterday at around noon along the Pamtsho-Dechencholing road. Police suspect foul play as the body was found with strangulation marks around the neck.
The body has been sent to the National Referral Hospital in Thimphu for a post-mortem examination. The police are expecting the report in the coming week.
