Her Royal Highness Princess Dechen Yangzom Wangchuck, along with Saima Wazeed, WHO’s Regional Director for South-East Asia launched the Dzongkha version of the autobiography Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Thimphu today.

He is widely regarded as the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh. Saima Wazeed is also the granddaughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

This is the first ever Bangladeshi book to be translated into Dzongkha. The translation was carried out by the Centre for Bhutan and GNH studies and the Bangladeshi Embassy in Bhutan.

The book aims to strengthen cultural ties between Bhutan and Bangladesh.
