To make the transfer of money easier for those residing in Australia, the Bhutan National Bank launched its BNB Remit, yesterday. BNB Remit ensures a fast transaction process. Customers can transfer a maximum of 100,000 Australian dollars in a month by paying a transaction fee of 5.5 Australian dollars per transaction. The user-friendly app which is available for both Android and iOS users is automated with strong security encryption to ensure a safe and secure transaction.

The app is user-friendly and automated with strong security encryption to ensure a safe and secure transaction.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BNB, the introduction of the BNB Remit is to provide innovative financial solutions to its customers living in Australia. He added that the initiative is as per the recommendation from the people living in the southern hemisphere.

“When I went to Australia for the Bhutanese living abroad program initiated by the Central Bank, at that time, I received a request to start a remittance service in BNB. That is the whole reason why we started this service. Before that, we didn’t push for it. This time BNB came up with a really good platform that is the best in the country and hopefully, it can change the remittance landscape in Bhutan,” said Sonam Tobgay, BNB’s chief executive officer.

“BNB Remit signifies an important leap in our endeavour to embrace technological innovation at its core. Designed with a user-friendly interface and fortified by robust security measures. This platform transcends mere financial transactions,” said Dorji Namgyal Rinchhen, director of customer experience at Bhutan National Bank.

BNB also plans to introduce the BNB Remit for people living in the US and Canada by June this year. Similarly, the bank will further enhance its service in Japan and Middle East countries by the end of this year.

Around 500 BNB customers residing in Australia downloaded the app since its launch yesterday.
