Daga United FC continued its unbeaten run in the ongoing Pepsi Bhutan Premier League Qualifiers. They defeated Samtse FC 4-2 at the Samtse Artificial Football Ground yesterday to remain on top of the points table.

The match witnessed an early lead for the visiting team as they found the net within the first ten minutes, catching Samtse FC off guard.

However, Samtse FC quickly responded with a goal from Zafa Faizal Konan before the first half concluded, leveling the score to 1-1.

In the second half, Daga United FC moved up a gear with Yeshi Wangchuk leading the charge by completing a remarkable hat trick adding two more goals in the 56th and 69th minutes.

To make matter worse for Samtse FC, Kinzang Gyalpo widened the lead with a stunning long-range goal from outside the box, perfectly finding the top corner in the 71st minute.

Despite Samtse FC’s efforts to narrow the gap with a goal in the 86th minute, Daga United FC emerged victorious with a final score of 4-2.

“We are very happy with the result. This is all because of the hard work of the players and indeed because of the members who are working behind us. We would like to keep maintaining the top position in the points table. We are working hard and we hope we would be successful in qualifying for the BPL league,” said Ngawang Dendup, Head Coach of Daga United FC.

With this win, Daga United FC maintains an impressive record of 3 wins and 1 draw in four matches, solidifying their position at the top of the points table with 10 points. On the other hand, Samtse FC’s consecutive defeat at home have seen them drop to the 5th position in the league standings.

In today’s game at the Changlingmithang Stadium, Phuentsholing Heroes FC defeated Thimphu Raven FC 2-0. The win takes Phuentshogling Heroes FC to third in the points table. Each club will now have 3 more matches to play. Four of them will be promoted to the Bhutan Premier League.
