Prime Minister meets the President of India

Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay who is on a five-day visit to India met with the Indian President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi, today. The Prime Minister also met with officials from the Indian tourism sector to promote Bhutan’s tourism potential. The Prime Minister also paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi.  

At the Rashtrapati Bhavan, home to the President of India, the Prime Minister met with the President, Droupadi Murmu.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by the foreign affairs and external trade minister, the energy and natural resources minister, the industry, commerce and employment minister, and senior government officials.

Discussions at the Rashtrapati Bhavan centred on mutual cooperation and strategic partnerships.

Following the meeting, the Prime Minister paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the Raj Ghat.

Alongside his wife Tashi Doma, the Prime Minister laid a wreath and offered floral tributes. Observing a moment of silence, the prime minister also signed the visitor’s book.

Continuing his diplomatic engagements, the Prime Minister met with the Indian Power, New and Renewable Energy Minister, Raj Kumar Singh, underscoring collaborative efforts in the energy sector.

 

 

Following that, the Prime Minister met Gautam Adani, the founder and chairman of the Adani Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate.

Additionally, Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, participated in a tourism event hosted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, highlighting Bhutan as an emerging tourism destination.

Tomorrow, the Prime Minister and Bhutanese delegates are scheduled to fly to Mumbai. There, the Prime Minister will meet with the Governor of Maharashtra.
