The 2,000-year-old Mendhagang Nagtshang at Dzomi Gewog in Punakha has been renovated finally as the new Gewog Office and RNR Centre for the people of Dzomi. The new Gewog Centre is centrally located and near the road head. Prior to the inauguration of the office which was on Thursday, people in the gewog had to walk uphill to reach the old gewog office. It has also saved funds for constructing an all new RNR center for the Gewog.
The present Dzongdag, Kunzang N. Tshering came up with the idea and mobilized funds to renovate the monument.
