The Bhutan Development Bank Limited’s (BDBL) Panbang Branch Manager was suspended last month over alleged fund embezzlement. A branch assistant is also in police custody over the same case.
BDBL says the case came to the limelight after the bank noticed cash shortage of Nu 2.3 m in December last year.
The bank added the case has been forwarded to Panbang Police.
Panbang Police has confirmed the case is under investigation but refused to comment further.
BDBL too refused to make further comments.
