Two-week Winter Youth Resilience and Leadership Development Programme, held in four centres concluded, today. A total of 320 students from classes seven to twelve participated in the programme. Coordinated by the Career Education and Counselling Division of the Department of Education Programmes, the initiative aimed to build resilience and leadership skills among the students.

The programmes were held at the Rangjung Central School in Trashigang, Yebilaptsa Central School in Zhemgang, Kabesa Central School in Punakha, and the Tashithang Middle Secondary School in Samtse.

The students who participated in the programme said it helped them build confidence and develop skills in various fields such as sports and leadership.

“This programme helped me build confidence and gain skills in various fields. It also helped me learn about disciplines and values,” said Pema Choden, a participant from Taktse Central School.

“We all have different skills and talents. Coming here helped me exchange my knowledge with others and learn from them,” said Tshenchoe Yangki, a participant from Chokerling Middle Secondary School.

“I have learned about resilience and developing skills such as leadership, and sportsmanship. It taught me how to solve problems more ethically and not the other way around,” said Kinga Jimba, a participant from Nganglam Central School.

“Having learned about leadership skills and being one of the captains in school, I am going to implement what I learned when I go back,” said Tenzin Yangden, a participant from Lhuentse Higher Secondary School.

Designed as a residential learning camp, the programme offered unique experiences to the participants.

The programme featured valuable teachings, leadership insights, skills development, and holistic practices guided by various instructors.
