The Zhemgang District Court sentenced a 25-year-old man to two years and six months in prison for attempting to rape a 55-year-old woman. The judgment was passed yesterday.
According to the judgment, the victim was returning from Zhemgang town when the convict dragged her into a forest and attempted to rape her. The incident took place in December last year and the police arrested the convict after the victim’s daughter reported the case. The verdict also stated that the convict had attempted to rape her in the past as well.
