Bumthang Dzongkhag has constructed and donated a house for a Tshampa to meditate in Tharpaling in Bumthang.

The house was constructed under the command of His Majesty the King.

The house was handed over to the Tshampa, Tshitrim Jamtsho, recently. Tshitrim Jamtsho, 60, has already begun his meditations and prayers in his new house.

He has already done several meditations in Bhutan and in India. Previously he did his lo sum cho sum meditation in Tharpaling.

Earlier Tshitrim used to stay in Dechencholing Lhakhang in Thimphu. He left for Himachal Pardesh in India to continue his meditation. He stayed in India for five years. While he came back to Bhutan he met with His Majesty the King and requested for a house in Tharpaling to continue his meditation.

Tshitrim Jamtsho is originally from Tang gewog in Bumthang. He has no one to look after him.

“I am growing old now and if I could die here in Tharpaling my life will be fulfilled. I am thankful to His Majesty for the house,” he said.
