PDP promises to make Haa a tourist destination

The People’s Democratic Party aims to transform Haa into a tourist centre if they win the upcoming January 9th general elections. Tshering Tobgay, the party president, shared this plan during a recent meeting with the residents of the Bji_Kartshog_Uesu Constituency.

Speaking to the people of Bji_Kartshog_Uesu in Haa, the PDP president said that despite its small population, Haa possesses unique geographical features that give it an advantage over other districts.

Tshering Tobgay added that the presence of snow-capped mountains, glaciers with deep religious significance, and traditional structures make Haa an ideal tourist destination.

The PDP president also said that transforming Haa into a tourist spot requires effective town planning, including a proper drainage system, building river barrages to prevent floods, and maintaining cleanliness for all visitors.

During the meeting, he stressed the importance of good road and bridge connections for the scattered settlements in Haa, promising to build four bridges to link various villages if the party assumes power.

The PDP further pledged to form a committee to produce special cheese from Haa for export, should they lead the next government.

Additionally, the president touched upon the party’s broader pledges during the meeting.
