As the race to form the fourth democratic government gathers pace, the People’s Democratic Party says they will look into doing away with the Sustainable Development Fees for tourists in the southern districts. The PDP president Tshering Tobgay said this while meeting the people of Phuentshogling Constituency in Chhukha, today.

During the meeting, the president assured the development of Phuentshogling and in particular the Phuentshogling Thromde.

While there are many development plans, the president said that if Sustainable Development Fees are lifted for tourists in the southern districts, it will benefit Phuentshogling a lot.

He said that the PDP will conduct a review to do away with the SDF in the southern districts.

The president also said that they will do away with the entry fee of Nu 10 at the Pedestrian Terminal.

According to the president, the party will also improve the entry and exit procedures.

At the meeting, the PDP president also highlighted the risks of accidents to taxi drivers and truckers when they ply on the Indian highways.

As in-country motor vehicle insurance is not applicable for accidents on Indian highways, the president said they will either make in-country insurance cover accidents in India or look for insurance options in India.

The PDP president added that all these pledges are to improve the economy of the country.

The president also highlighted their general pledges at the meeting.
