Police in Trongsa have forwarded the case of a man who allegedly murdered his mother-in-law to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.

The 33-year-old man has been charged with murder.

He has also been charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into a house at Chendebji and stealing a mobile phone. The suspect, reportedly drunk during the incident, is alleged to have murdered his 53-year-old mother-in-law by striking her on the head with a knife at Semji village of Nubi Gewog in October.

He was reportedly at large trying to evade arrest before the police nabbed him following a 13-day search operation.
