After 18 long days, the missing taxi driver returns home. He was let go after his father-in-law paid the kidnappers a sum of Nu. 2,10,000.

In a telephonic interview with BBS, the father-in-law, Ganesh, said the kidnappers called him demanding cash in Indian currency, a few days ago. He immediately reported the matter to the police.

At around 9:20 a.m. this morning, Ganesh drove some 30 kilometres in between Gelephu and Santa Bari and crossed the border at Shanti Pur. He said, he was asked to drive some three kilometres into the jungle where he met some people to whom he gave the money.

He made the journey alone.

The taxi driver had gone missing on October 22 from Dekiling in Gelephu.

The Sarpang police are investigating the case.
