The Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law (JSW Law), held a Tashi Rabney ceremony of its campus in Pangbisa, Paro today, coinciding with the auspicious 21st day of the Eighth month. The historic occasion was graced by His Majesty The King, and His Majesty the Fourth Gyalpo as the Highest Guests of Honor, His Royal Highness The Gyalsey, and Members of the Royal Family, Donors and Partners, and alumni.

The rabney ceremony was a celebration of the successful establishment of JSW’s permanent campus, which represents a significant milestone in His Majesty’s vision for a just society that upholds the rule of law. It was also a day of gratitude to Their Majesties, and to seek Their Majesties’ continued blessings.

The campus is exemplary with state-of-the-art facilities incorporating sustainability in its impressive infrastructure, a beautiful combination of tradition and innovation.

Key highlights of the rabney ceremony included Tashi Ngasoel and Offering of Buelwa. A memorable highlight of the rabney was the Tashi Ngasoel, which showcased the breathtaking and symbolic law school campus. This special ritual sought the blessings of His Majesty The King and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo for the institution’s continued success into the future as well.
HRH Princess Sonam Dechan Wangchuck, the President, along with members of JSW Law, expressed their deepest gratitude and respects to Their Majesties through the symbolic offering of Buelwa followed by heartfelt musical tributes performed by notable artists and students.

JSW Law holds a unique position as the first and only law school in Bhutan, established by Royal Charter in 2015. Its pioneering curriculum sets it apart from law schools around the world, emphasizing Bhutanese values and traditions while providing a comprehensive legal education. Two batches of homegrown law students have graduated from the school, and are contributing significantly to the legal landscape of Bhutan.

The rabney ceremony at JSW Law’s new campus symbolizes not only the School’s remarkable journey but also the institution’s commitment to fulfilling Their Majesties’ noble vision and aspirations for the people.

During the Tashi Rabney Ceremony, Dean Sangay Dorjee, on behalf of the JSW Law family, presented the Ambassador of India, Sudhakar Dalela, a Jamkar-White Manjushri, as a sincere token of gratitude to the Government of India and its people for their continued support to the Law School, and in celebration of the special friendship between Bhutan and India.
