His Holiness the Je Khenpo consecrated the newly constructed Tshepamey Thongdrel today. Scores of people gathered to receive blessings at the consecration ceremony which was held at Paro Tshechu ground.
The 57 feet long and 87 feet wide Tshepameny Thongdrel was constructed at a cost of Nu.5.4 million.
The consecration ceremony was also attended by His Holiness Gyelse Trulku, His Eminence Tertoen Drugda Dorji Yangse, Venerable Yangpi Lopen of the Zhung Dratshang and Paro Rabdey’s Lam Neten and monks.
His Holiness the Je Khenpo also administered Tshe-Wang or the blessing for long life.
The Thongdrel will be housed in Paro Dzong. It will be unfurled every year for public veneration at the conclusion of the annual five day Tshepamey Sungchoe.
