SAFF U-16 Championship to kick off on Saturday

Bhutan will host the eighth edition of the South Asian Football Federation under-16 Championship at the Changlingmithang stadium in Thimphu. The championship, which kicks off from Saturday onwards will feature six teams including Bhutan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Maldives.

In the opening match, India will play Bangladesh at three in the afternoon followed by Bhutan taking on Pakistan at 7 PM.

Except for Pakistan and the Maldives, all other teams took part in their official training today. Players from Pakistan and the Maldives will arrive in the country today.

The championship finale is scheduled for the 10th of September. According to the Bhutan Football Federation, the BOB Bhutan Premier League and the National Women’s League will be postponed for a month to accommodate the championship.
