The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced three new candidates for the upcoming National Assembly Elections. With this, the PDP has confirmed 46 candidates, so far, out of the 47 National Assembly constituencies.

Forty-nine-year-old Chimi Dorji is the party’s candidate for the Gangzur-Minjey constituency in Lhuentse. He holds a Master of Business in Advanced Accounting from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia.

Before joining the party, Chimi Dorji served as an Executive Audit Specialist with the Royal Audit Authority.

The PDP announced 49-year-old Tobgay Tobgay (PhD) as its candidate for the Dramedtse-Ngatshang constituency in Monggar. Tobgay completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Geosciences from Princeton University in the United States.

Before joining politics, he worked as an entrepreneurial geologist.

Similarly, 47-year-old Thinley Wangchuk is the party’s candidate for the Boomdeling-Jamkhar constituency in Trashi Yangtse. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Sherubtse College. Thinley Wangchuk served as an officiating director at the National Council for two years.

The People’s Democratic Party is one of the five registered political parties in the country.
