The 18th session of the National Council concluded today with offering of Tashi Moenlam. The Prime Minister and the National Assembly Speaker were also present at the closing ceremony.
During the two weeks session, the house adopted Red Cross Society Bill and Civil Aviation Bill, 2015. However the council did not ratify the Motor Vehicles Agreement for the Regulation of Passenger and Cargo Vehicular Traffic between Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN). The bill was decided to be sent back to National Assembly for re-deliberation.
The house also delivered on Agricultural Policy, Performance Audit Report and Customs Bill of Bhutan, 2015. The house also presented on teenage pregnancy, sexual abuse and sexual harassment, and public procurement system.
