His Majesty the King granted audience to the British High Commissioner to India, Sir James Bevan, this morning. He arrived in the country on Tuesday. This is his first visit to Bhutan after assuming his current position last year.

Sir James said his visit to Bhutan would further strengthen and deepen the relations between Bhutan and the United Kingdom.

Later in the afternoon, Sir James called on the Minister-In-Charge for Foreign Affairs, Khandu Wangchuk.

Sir James said GNH is greatly supported by the British Royal Family and David Cameroon himself.

The two discussed about accelerating Bhutan’s socio economic growth, foreign direct investment, democracy and other issues of mutual interest.

He also called on the President of Bhutan National Legal Institute, Her Royal Highness Princess Sonam Dechan Wangchuck yesterday.
