For the first time, two Bhutanese students will go to Japan to study Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or MBBS courses. The Royal Civil Service Commission signed a memorandum of understanding with International Japan’s University of Health Welfare today. The university has a history of providing scholarships to several South Asian countries and this time the university has allocated two slots of the MBBS scholarship programme to Bhutan. The university will continue providing medical scholarships to Bhutanese students hereafter. The medical scholarship programme is expected to significantly contribute to the country’s healthcare system.
