Team Hits Karva wins Women’s T20 Club Championship

Team Hits Karva defeated Dechencholing Nazhoens by 31 runs to win the finals of the Women’s T20 Club Championship played at the Lekithang Cricket Ground in Punakha, today. Hits Karva opted to bat first after winning the toss and managed to put on a target of 113 runs. In reply, Dechencholing Nazhoens were bowled out for 81 runs handing Hits Karva a comfortable victory. The week-long T20 championship saw eight teams consisting of 112 players from six districts participate. The fourteen best players from the championship will be selected to undergo a month-long intensive training at the Gelephu International Cricket Ground, in preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifier, which is scheduled for the end of August in Malaysia.
