DGPC updating Dorjilung Hydropower Project with international experts

The Druk Green Power Corporation along with a panel of experts from France and Italy is updating the Detailed Project Report or DPR of the 1,125 mega-watt hydropower plant at Dorjilung in Monggar. The Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Loknath Sharma, said this during the question hour session of the National Assembly today.

The DPR is an extensive outline of a project with essential information such as the resources and tasks to be carried out to make the project successful. The minister said USD 4 M has been allocated for the update of DPR by the World Bank. The first report was conducted in 2015. The Minister was responding to Monggar MP Karma Lhamo’s question.

Completing the groundwork for the Dorjilung Hydropower Project by 2023 was one of the pledges made by MP Karma Lhamo during the bye-election two years ago.
