The Tsirang District Court has sentenced, 22-year-old Sunil Rai, who murdered a couple in Tsirang Toed Gewog in February of this year to life imprisonment. The judgment was passed yesterday.
According to the judgment, the convict who is from Tsirang murdered the couple after the man scolded him for tearing his jacket and arguing with his wife. The convict then dumped their dead bodies in a septic tank behind the couple’s house.
BBS learnt that the couple’s son, who was also attacked by the convict is currently in a stable condition. The convict was working with the late couple on their farms since his childhood days.
