Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa declares two new female candidates

The Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa unveiled two new female candidates today. The new candidates will represent two constituencies of Haa and Paro. With this, the party has declared 29 candidates so far, for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Dawa Gyelmo is the party’s candidate for the Bji-Katsho-Uesu constituency in Haa. The 36-year-old has a Post Graduate Degree in Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism at Chennai in India.

Before joining the party, she worked as a reporter for Kuensel newspaper for seven years until 2017 and later, as an independent journalist for a few years.

The party declared Jangchuk Tshomo as its representative from Dokar-Sharpa constituency in Paro. The 30-year-old holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Sociology from Sherubtse College.

She mostly worked in the service industry since graduation. And later, started a business before joining the party.

Meanwhile, the party also appointed a female youth coordinator.

The Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa is one of the five registered political parties in the country.
