Coinciding with the first anniversary of the Royal Wedding, His Holiness the Je Khenpo offered Yangbum to His Majesty the King today.

His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and the members of the royal family were also present during the occasion.

Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister, cabinet ministers and senior government officials also paid their respects to His Majesty the King and the Gyaltsuen.

In keeping with His Majesty’s wishes, no national holiday was declared nor celebrations for the occasion held.

His Majesty the King and the Gyaltsuen granted two Sertogs or golden Pinnacle for the Dukhang and Kuenrey of the Paro Rinpung Dzong.

Their Majesties also sponsored prayers for the nation and the people in all important lhakhangs and dzongs of the 20 dzongkhags.
