To commemorate the 60th birthday of Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Sangay Choden Wangchuck, the Royal Textile Academy in collaboration with the Textile Museum inaugurated a timeline museum highlighting the life and works of the Queen Mother. Her Royal Highness Princess Euphelma Choden Wangchuck was also present at the inauguration.

The timeline museum showcases the crown of the Queen Mother, Sangay Choden Wangchuck.

Prestigious medals and a variety of intricate brocade Kiras worn by Her Majesty are on display.  The museum also presents the international and national achievements of Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Sangay Choden Wangchuck.

“The museum exhibition will be open to the general public starting Monday. The museum presents the brocades of our Queen Mother and her legacy,” said Tandin Wangchuk, assistant collection manager of the Royal Textile Academy.

The museum will be open to both tourists and the general public. However, tourists have to pay Nu 250 as an entry fee.
